The Four Classic Feminine Archetypes

“We women, when we’re searching for a meaning to our lives or for the path of knowledge, always identify with one of four classic archetypes.

The Virgin (and I’m not speaking here of a sexual virgin) is the one whose search springs from her complete independence, and everything she learns is the fruit of her ability to face challenges alone.

The Martyr findes her way to self-knowlegde through pain, surrender, and suffering.

The Saint finds her true reason for living in unconditional love and in her ability to give without asking anything in return.

Finally the Witch justifies her existence by going in search of complete and limitless pleasure.

Normally a woman has to choose from one of these traditional feminine archetypes, but Athena was all four at once.

How to improve the air in your home for a glowing skin in the winter

Keeping our bedroom humidified

This will be my second winter on the East Coast. As usual, I plan to fly to warmer climates when it becomes rough especially around January and February. I am a wuss who is really scared of extremely cold temperatures and too much snow :( When I was a little girl, as I arrived straight from Senegal to Germany in the middle of the winter, I was afraid the snow would turn me white like the other people I saw in that country. Maybe I still fear that. LOL!!!!

How Tiossano will cultivate the next generation of Senegalese geniuses

From the future Director of the Tiossano Foundation, my husband Michel Strong:

Perhaps now that the WSJ reports it, people will begin to take this seriously,

“The rise or fall in verbal IQ scores appeared to be connected to changes in an area of the brain associated with speech, whereas shifts in nonverbal IQ related to an area involved in motor control and hand movements.”

Skin on Skin

My husband, who is highly skeptical by nature, has been persuaded by the scientific research that black seed oil has significant healing properties.  As a consequence, he uses Tiossano products not only to cleanse, but also to heal, his skin (although our current product line is designed for women of course men can use them as well).  I often get on his case for not taking care of his skin, and sometimes it is drier than I would like, or it peels, or his pores are larger than I’d like.  But he uses Tiossano products, and washes and scrubs and moisturizes his skin, and it becomes smoother, clearer, and softer, and I once again enjoy having his hands caress me.

Conscious but more importantly Humane Corporations

My husband is at the Conscious Capitalism CEO Summit in Austin while I was working in our hotel room when he texted me this link about a Southwest airlines pilot delaying a flight so that a grandfather could see his 3 year-old murdered grandson before they pulled the grandson off of life support.  When he returned to the room he told me the back story that Colleen Barrett, President Emerita of Southwest, had told to the Conscious Capitalism audience:

Trendy Tribeca Bar or Intimate Salon?

Some time ago, a young woman by the name of Joy expressed her interest in hosting a Tiossano Salon for her girlfriends at the end of October. Joy is a perfect Femme Tiossano in the sense that she has it all: brains, beauty, soul and heart. And when the time is right, I am sure she will settle for nothing less than the absolute worthy mate :)

Now that we are less than 20 days away from the party, we have been working actively at ironing the logistics of our event.

A Fresh Paradigm

Bard Fisher Center

Yesterday, after a relaxing Fall afternoon in laid back Rhinebeck, NY, my Beloved and I decided to get lost and follow a road we did not know to return home.

Fifteen minutes later we started seeing signs for Bard College. That is when M noticed “Wow, I did not know Bard College was so close to our house”. And because the two of us love to visit College Campuses, we decided to follow the signs and entered the magnificent Campus.

Sensual Grace of La Femme Teranga

I love Vanessa Paradis, a wonderful soul with whom women my age grew up with in France.

Vanessa is amazing in the sense that she moves very fluidly across the Four Femmes. She has wonderfully mastered the Art of being Femme & Fatale. In this interview, she is at her most sensual Teranga!

Also notice the effortless glamour that emanates out of her. This is one of the aspects that I cherish the most in the French part of my background. Vanessa is super glamorous, yet you just want to be friends with her because she is so inviting and down to earth. That is the Power of Teranga and Johnny Depp, her husband (and a man I had a crush on for years), got under the spell :)
